I've been on the Red Oak Library Board a few months now.
Our library --while absolutely valuable-- is Very. Small.
One Room.
One small room.
for over 9000 residents and surrounding towns that have no library.
We're working on that, but the City has bigger fish to fry --they need to keep our Police and Fire well-funded and our basic services intact. i happen to LIKE running water and no sewage in the streets....
So the Library is going to be at the mercy of what several amateurs can do. I have a plethora of ideas, but too many to implement at once!! I lay my ideas at the foot of the Board and let them rein me in a bit. If anyone is interested, let me know: i hope to see an official Friends of the library Group started ASAP. We need a couple of Board members too.
